It might have been a little rainy on Ashley and John's wedding day but they did not let that take away from their beautiful wedding at Glastonbury Boathouse.
Five years ago, they met in ROTC at UCONN and lucky for them they were stationed together in Texas. They loved it so much that they decided when they were finished serving in the military, they were going to settle in a little town in Texas and buy their first home.
Ashley planned her entire wedding from Texas, of course with John’s help! She fell in love with her venue online and knew she had to have her wedding there. They booked all of their vendors through word of mouth. Thankfully, I shot her college roommate’s wedding last fall and that’s how she found me.
Rain clouds filled the sky as we were waiting for their first look to take place. We gave it a few extra minutes as we watched the radar. The rain drops stopped and I brought John to the boardwalk. As he stood with his back to his bride, she approached with sweet giggles to show her excitement. John beamed with joy as we revealed his bride.
It started to sprinkle so we ran inside. We waited to make the call whether the ceremony is held along the river or pull it inside. The rain stopped and the clouds began to break. Ashley was all for braving the weather to have her intimate ceremony by the water. As she made her way down the stairs the sun began to shine!
It couldn’t have been more perfect! We ended the night with a warm orange sky.
